Upon completion, students receive a Certificate of Completion. Some employers may accept a certificate; however, employment is not guaranteed. Completing this program may provide an advantage over applicants with no training. Students are encouraged to pursue a full certification program. This course may help prepare students to challenge a certification exam where eligibility requirements are met. Includes 6 months online access and instructor support.

The Pharmacy Technician Program prepares students with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to begin a career in pharmacy. Students will learn the role of pharmacy technicians, medication safety principles, pharmacy law, prescription processing, drug classifications, calculations, inventory management, and professional responsibilities. Students will explore real-world pharmacy situations while developing the knowledge needed to support pharmacists and provide safe, effective patient care. This program introduces concepts commonly covered on national certification exams, including the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
